More about The Blue Yellows
The Blue Yellows are an original grunge-folk band of both intensity and tenderness with tunes ranging from intense, emotive wig outs to sing-along dities. Never a part of a particular scene, they carve their own brand of music and have played a wide variety of venues and festivals from tiny, bespoke venues to notable festivals including The Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival, The Words and Music Festival, Nantwich Jazz Festival, Mile Fest in Gloucestershire among others.
There most recent EP ‘A Minute in the Sun’, finely produced by Manu Arteaga, is a richly felt and executed EP felt by the band to be their best recorded work yet, described by The Musician Magazine as having “busy, fractious compositions and sixties tinges” and being a “good old fashioned wigout”, the fact that it was recorded one-by-one when Covid lockdown conditions allowed does not seem to have diminished it’s tenderness or richness of spirit.
This followed Kitchen Sessions which focused on live and session tracks recorded in a variety of locations often rehearsed and even mixed on one occasion in Keyboardist Em's kitchen, included the single ‘Toast the Night’, described by The Musician as “Joyous”.
Their debut EP ‘All These Things Right Now’ was described by Here Comes the Flood as 'quirky rock from the UK with powerful voice and good-time backing vocals' and Radicals Rising as being 'stamped with affection and originality'. The lead single from this debut, ‘No Tobacco, No Jesus’ was declared “The Sound of The Summer” by Six Towns Radio.
